Nikola Grbić names Maja Chwalińska as Polish Athlete of the Year favorite

Serbian volleyball coach Nikola Grbić has named tennis player Maja Chwalińska as his favorite for the Polish Athlete of the Year award. Despite the recent successes of the Polish national volleyball team, Grbić highlighted Chwalińska following her first career WTA 1000 title victory in Wuhan.

Grbić noted that individual athletes often have an advantage in such polls because the glory is concentrated on a single person, whereas in team sports like volleyball, recognition is divided among many representatives. He expressed pride in athletes who represent Poland at such a high level, stating that such successes improve the country's global image.
