Nikola Jokić poised for record $359.5 million NBA contract

The Denver Nuggets are preparing to offer Serbian center Nikola Jokić a five‑year contract worth $359.5 million, which would be the largest deal in NBA history. Jokić is under contract through June 2028 but already has the right to negotiate an extension that could be worth $278 million over four years. If he declines the final year of his current deal, he could become a free agent next summer and sign a maximum contract, potentially bringing his career earnings to around $724 million.

Jokić’s personal life also drew attention. His wife, Natalija Jokić (née Maćešić), arrived in Serbia as a refugee during the 1995 Operation Storm exodus from Croatia. After settling in Sombor, she later met Nikola, married in 2020, and the couple now have two children, daughter Ognjena and son Ignjat.
