Nikola Jokić signs record NBA supermax deal with Denver Nuggets

Serbian center Nikola Jokić, the NBA’s triple‑MVP, is set to agree on a super‑max contract extension with the Denver Nuggets. He has two options: a three‑year deal worth $214 million, averaging over $71 million per season, or a four‑year contract valued at $278 million, averaging $69.5 million. Either option would make him the highest‑paid player in NBA history, surpassing the previous record of $67.9 million per year. Jokić has indicated he wants to remain in Denver, and the franchise is prepared to meet his financial expectations. In addition to the club commitment, he is expected to lead the Serbian national team in upcoming FIBA qualifying windows.
