Nikola Jokic expresses frustration with fame and lack of privacy

Denver Nuggets star and three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic has expressed growing discomfort with his fame and the constant public exposure that accompanies his career. Speaking on the ‘Curious Mike Podcast’ hosted by Michael Porter Jr., the Serbian center admitted that the lack of privacy is becoming exhausting.

Jokic noted that he has begun to act more rudely toward people who approach him in public, such as in restaurants or bars, because he feels people are being ‘indelicate’ by constantly trying to film him on their phones. He stated that he avoids taking photographs to protect his personal time, acknowledging that while he may appear impolite, he is simply trying to live his life.

Additionally, Jokic addressed the expectation that professional athletes should serve as role models for children. He argued that the responsibility of influencing youth belongs to families and friends rather than public figures, noting that he does not believe athletes should be held to that standard.
