Nikola Lazetić denies allegations following calls for resignation
Nikola Lazetić, president of the Belgrade Football Association (FSB), has issued a formal denial against allegations of political interference and misconduct. The response follows a demand for his resignation from Nenad Stojanović, the general secretary of the Obrenovac Football Association.
Stojanović accused Lazetić of using political influence to shape the association, violating FIFA and UEFA principles, and engaging in the misuse of official positions. Specific allegations included the preferential distribution of equipment and contracts to politically aligned clubs and the awarding of construction projects to a relative's firm.
Lazetić dismissed these claims as baseless and motivated by personal frustration. He stated that the FSB operates transparently and in accordance with the law, noting that the same individuals making accusations had previously supported the association during elections. He indicated that legal steps would be taken to protect his reputation and that of the organization.
