Nikolai Lugansky to perform Rachmaninoff marathon in September 2026

Pianist Nikolai Lugansky and conductor Stanislav Kochanovsky will perform a marathon series of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s works in September 2026. The program features the complete piano concertos and orchestra, including the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Symphony No. 2, and the symphonic poems ‘Isle of the Dead’ and ‘The Rock’.

Performed with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the series will include dates in Rome, Verona, Rimini, and Bratislava. The performances will be recorded live by the Harmonia Mundi label for a future discographic release.

In Rome, the concerts are scheduled for September 21, 24, and 27. The events will also be broadcast on Italian media, including live radio on Rai Radio 3 and a recorded video broadcast on Rai 5.
