Nikolas Ferreira faces investigation over fake Federal Police report
The Regional Electoral Court of Minas Gerais (TRE-MG) has issued an injunction against federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) regarding the circulation of a falsified document attributed to the Federal Police.
The document, which falsely claimed the Federal Police found no evidence of crimes in conversations between Ferreira and banker Daniel Vorcaro, was shared by the deputy on his official Instagram and X accounts. The Federal Police have confirmed they did not produce the report.
Judge Sálvio Chaves ordered Meta and X to preserve and provide metadata, access logs, and registration data within 24 hours. The court is specifically investigating whether the profile ‘nikolasferreirateam’, which first shared the image, is linked to the deputy’s official team through shared administrators or devices.
The legal action, filed by deputy Rogério Correia (PT-MG), seeks the revocation of Ferreira's candidacy or diploma, as well as an eight-year period of ineligibility. Ferreira has stated he was unaware the material was false and had merely republished it.
