Nikolas Ferreira sets record with 3.1 million votes in Brazilian election
Nikolas Ferreira has been re-elected to the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies with 3,119,051 votes, setting a new historical record for the position. This result is more than double his 2022 tally and significantly exceeds previous records held by Eduardo Bolsonaro and Enéas Carneiro.
Lucas Pavanato, also from the Liberal Party (PL), secured second place with 3,038,438 votes. Ferreira, a 30-year-old federal deputy from Minas Gerais, has built a massive political following through social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
The election follows recent tensions between Ferreira and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who had previously criticized the deputy during an interview. Ferreira's record-breaking performance consolidates his position as a leading figure for the right wing in Brazil's national political landscape.
