Nikolas Panayiotou joins FC Utrecht from Omonia Nicosia

FC Utrecht has officially signed Cypriot defender Nikolas Panayiotou from Omonia Nicosia. The 26-year-old has committed to a three-year contract with the Dutch Eredivisie club, which includes an option for an additional season.

Panayiotou joins Utrecht following a tenure at Omonia Nicosia where he made 180 appearances and won two national championships. An experienced international, he has earned 22 caps for the Cyprus national team and recently participated in both Champions League and Europa League qualifying rounds.

Utrecht manager Anthony Correia sought defensive reinforcements following a difficult start to the season. Panayiotou expressed enthusiasm for the move, stating, “FC Utrecht is a big club in the Netherlands. It is a beautiful step for me to come and play here.”
