Nikoloski accuses Bulgaria of creating crisis over Mihajlova case
Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski has accused Bulgaria of manufacturing an artificial crisis regarding the case of Ivana Mihajlova. Nikoloski stated that the situation is being exploited to strain bilateral relations between Macedonia and Bulgaria in anticipation of upcoming Bulgarian elections.
Nikoloski noted that an investigation is currently underway to determine whether Macedonian institutions committed any failures during Mihajlova's departure from the country. He announced that the findings of this investigation will be made public in the near future.
Addressing claims made by the Bulgarian Ambassador, Zhelyasko Radukov, Nikoloski alleged a synchronization of views between the Bulgarian government and the SDSM opposition party. He suggested that the political maneuvering is intended to damage the rating of VMRO-DPMNE rather than address the core issues of the case.
