Aleksandar Nikoloski visits Brussels to discuss EU integration and infrastructure
Aleksandar Nikoloski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport of North Macedonia, is conducting a two-day working visit to Brussels to meet with European Commission representatives. The discussions focus on economic and political issues, the implementation of infrastructure projects, the Growth Plan, and the process of European Union integration and enlargement.
Nikoloski is scheduled to participate in a session organized by ‘Friends of Europe’ alongside approximately 200 European leaders, including commissioners and MEPs. He will also address a summit dedicated to transport corridors, where he will meet with Robert de Groot, the Executive Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB).
A key highlight of the visit is the discussion regarding a 150 million euro grant received from the EU for the construction of the Corridor 8 railway connecting North Macedonia to Bulgaria. This project is further supported by loans from the EIB and the EBRD. The visit serves as a precursor to the upcoming visit of the President of the European Commission to Skopje.
