Nikolov brothers to play together for Cucine Lube Civitanova

Bulgarian volleyball players Aleksandar and Simeon Nikolov will play together for the first time at the club level for the Italian team Cucine Lube Civitanova starting this new season. The brothers, sons of volleyball legend Vladimir Nikolov, provided their first joint interview to Gazzetta dello Sport regarding the move.

Aleksandar noted that while playing together on the national team had always been a dream, joining the same club was unexpected. Simeon mentioned that Aleksandar’s presence was a significant factor in his decision to accept the offer from Lube, stating, “Together we are significantly stronger.”

The brothers discussed the dynamics of playing as siblings, noting that while it can occasionally lead to tension or different ways of communicating, the bond generally serves as a support system. Aleksandar described Simeon as a “born leader,” while Simeon expressed admiration for Aleksandar’s leadership qualities during difficult situations.
