Nikon announces NIKKOR Z 120-300mm f/2.8 TC VR S lens

Nikon has officially unveiled the NIKKOR Z 120-300mm f/2.8 TC VR S, a professional S-Line telephoto zoom lens designed for sports and wildlife photography. It is the first constant f/2.8 zoom lens to feature an integrated 1.4x teleconverter, allowing photographers to switch between a 120-300mm f/2.8 range and a 168-420mm f/4 range via a built-in switch.

The lens utilizes Nikon’s Silky Swift VCM (SSVCM) autofocus motor for high-speed, silent, and precise tracking. It also features up to 6.5 stops of vibration reduction when used with compatible Synchro VR bodies. Despite the added internal teleconverter, the lens weighs approximately 2,735g, which is roughly 515g lighter than its F-mount predecessor.

Designed for durability, the lens includes weather sealing and a magnesium alloy structure. It supports both front screw-in and rear drop-in filters and features an Arca-Swiss compatible tripod collar. The lens is expected to be available in November 2026, with retail prices set around £13,999 in the UK and approximately 99,999 yuan in China.
