Nikon backs film festivals in France and the UAE

Nikon announced the theme for its 17th edition of the Nikon Film Festival in France, inviting creators to explore the concept of “Surprise.” Submissions open on 15 September 2026, with a deadline of 15 January 2027, and the award ceremony scheduled for 22 April 2027 at the Grand Rex. The festival encourages short films or six‑episode mini‑series of up to 2 minutes 20 seconds, designed for web distribution.

In the United Arab Emirates, Nikon Middle East is sponsoring the 12th Emirates Film Festival held at the New Covent Garden Theatre in Mall of the Emirates. The company will provide gift vouchers and branded merchandise to winners in four categories, including Regional Film Winner for the GCC and Emerging Filmmaker. The partnership aims to give emerging regional talent access to Nikon’s Z Cinema camera system and lenses, supporting creators who work with limited budgets.
