PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis outlines pension and political reforms

PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis has presented a series of institutional proposals aimed at strengthening the income of Greek retirees. During an event for the Supreme Confederation of Greek Pensioners, Androulakis detailed a plan that includes the gradual reintroduction of the 13th monthly pension starting in 2027, the establishment of a new EKAS (Special Solidarity Pension), a 20% reduction in the solidarity contribution for pensioners in the first year, and the unfreezing of supplementary pensions.

Androulakis also addressed the party's broader political strategy, defining his primary opponents as populism and corruption rather than specific individuals. He criticized the current government's handling of economic issues and emphasized the need for a strong social state, focusing on housing, public health, and education.

In internal party developments, Androulakis announced that independent MP Myrto Korovesi has officially joined the PASOK parliamentary group, bringing the party's total to 36 MPs. Additionally, the party has raised concerns regarding Greek basketball, calling for investigations into allegations of match manipulation and corruption within the sport.
