Nikos Dendias defends Greek sovereignty during Paros celebrations

Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias represented the Prime Minister at the Panagia Ekatontapiliani shrine on Paros during the celebration of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary and Armed Forces Day. The event included a high-level religious service attended by various bishops and political representatives.

During his address, Dendias emphasized the role of the Greek Armed Forces in defending national sovereignty and upholding international law, specifically the Law of the Sea. He noted that the military serves as a guarantor of national independence amidst increasing international uncertainties and authoritarian approaches. He also highlighted the ‘Agenda 2030’ strategic plan, which aims to modernize Greece's military capabilities and transform its weaponry into more advanced forces.
