Greek media landscape undergoes major seasonal restructuring

The Greek television landscape is undergoing significant restructuring for the upcoming 2026-2027 season, characterized by major presenter shifts and programming changes across private networks and public broadcaster ERT. Strategic decisions driven by cost reduction and high-profile departures have created a domino effect of personnel movements.

Key developments include Sia Kosioni moving from SKAI to ANT1 and Vasilis Papadrosou joining ANT1 as General Director of News and Information. On Mega, Nikos Evangelatos has returned with his news program ‘Live News’, which achieved strong viewership ratings of 17% in the target audience during its premiere. The program plans to integrate more advanced technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and 3D presentation tools.

Action 24 is also launching a refreshed news schedule starting August 31, featuring a full lineup of political, economic, and sports programming. Additionally, Action 24 and Athletiko.gr are continuing their sports collaboration with live broadcasts and specialized formats throughout the end of August.
