Nikos Ioannou family seeks justice seven years after Atalanti accident

Seven years after a fatal traffic accident in Atalanti, Phthiotis, the family of Nikos Ioannou continues to seek justice. On September 9, 2019, the then 20-year-old Nikos became the victim of what his family describes as a traffic crime involving a driver of an unregistered truck.

Now 27, Nikos lives with a 90% disability and is entirely dependent on his relatives. His family describes their situation as a “daily Golgotha,” citing the exhaustion of long-term hospitalizations, rehabilitation centers, and intensive daily therapies.

Beyond the physical challenges, the family reports significant legal obstacles. They claim the responsible driver has shown no remorse and has hindered the judicial process through negative testimony. Additionally, the family alleges that the driver's insurance company has filed appeals to avoid covering the high costs of Nikos's rehabilitation treatments.
