Nikos Manesis Remains at Alpha TV Amid ANT1 Transfer Rumors

Alpha TV has refuted reports that journalist Nikos Manesis would leave the channel for rival ANT1. The broadcaster confirmed that Manesis is under contract for the upcoming television season to continue presenting the popular weekend show “Weekend with Manesis.”

Despite the official denial, Greek media have reported that ANT1 executives, led by news director Vasilis Papadrosos, have held several meetings with Manesis in recent weeks, exploring the possibility of adding him to the channel’s weekend news lineup. The journalist’s current agreement with Alpha remains in force for another year, and no move has been finalized.

The situation highlights the informal alliance among Greece’s four major private broadcasters—Mega, ANT1, Alpha and Star—where talent transfers are typically coordinated to avoid direct competition.
