Nikos Romanos criticizes Alexis Tsipras over political transparency

Nikos Romanos, the Prime Minister’s Director of Digital Communication, has issued sharp criticism against Alexis Tsipras regarding his political credibility and financial transparency.

During a television appearance on SKAI, Romanos questioned the substance of Tsipras’s current political initiatives, suggesting they lack meaningful differentiation from his past actions and are merely presented in a different guise. He argued that the reliability of new political announcements must be judged by a leader's political history.

A central point of the critique focused on the funding of Tsipras’s political endeavors. Romanos contrasted the lack of available financial data for Tsipras with the transparency of the New Democracy party, noting that New Democracy’s expenditures, revenues, and debts are publicly accessible on their website. Romanos demanded accountability regarding the costs of party offices, events, productions, and fixed expenses, stating that such information should be transparent and available to the public like other political parties.
