Nikos Romanos criticizes Alexis Tsipras over stance on violence

Nikos Romanos, the Prime Minister's Director of Digital Communication, has accused former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras of misrepresenting his historical stance on political violence. Speaking to Action 24, Romanos challenged Tsipras's claims of consistently opposing violence, specifically citing the period of unrest following the death of Alexandros Grigoropoulos in 2008.

Romanos referenced a past insert from the SYRIZA party newspaper, 'Avgi', which contained the phrase 'oh cypress, oh cypress, how beautifully you snatch'. He also reminded the public of previous comments made by Tsipras regarding Molotov cocktails.

In response, Grigoris Theodorakis, a sector chief for the Greek Left Alliance, defended Tsipras, stating that the former Prime Minister has condemned all forms of violence and accused the government of attempting to intimidate citizens and link social movements to violent episodes.
