Nildo Bigode backs Grêmio ahead of Remo matchup

Former striker Nildo Bigode, who began his professional career at Remo and became an icon at Grêmio, has expressed his support for Grêmio ahead of their upcoming Série A matchup at the Mangueirão stadium.

Despite his historical ties to both clubs, Nildo stated, “Today, I am Tricolor Gaúcho!” regarding the decisive match. He noted that both teams are facing pressure due to mistakes made throughout the championship. Grêmio currently sits in 17th place with 29 points, while Remo is in 19th with 23 points.

Nildo reflected on his early years at Remo, where he turned professional at age 16, crediting veteran players and coaches for his development. He also highlighted the return of Renato Portaluppi to Grêmio as an additional motivational factor for the team as they attempt to react in the final stages of the tournament.
