Nile Special hosts World Cup quarter‑final fan zone in Mbarara, Uganda
Nile Special continued its nationwide FIFA World Cup fan experience with a major quarter‑final watch party in Mbarara, held at Green Park Stadium‑Trends Bar. The event, the third large regional stop after Jinja and Gulu, attracted a massive crowd that watched England’s 2‑1 victory over Norway and stayed on until the early hours to see Argentina’s 3‑1 extra‑time win over Switzerland, creating a lively fan‑zone atmosphere of cheers, debates and music.
As part of the brand’s “Gwe Kafulu” score‑predictor campaign, participants entered draws for prizes including a television and a microwave supplied by Hisense Uganda. Local artists Truth 256 and MC Kacheche performed, and sports journalist Jermaine Egesa helped drive engagement. The activation also highlighted Nile Special’s “Cheers to Bars” initiative, with the next stage of the tour planned for Kampala.
