Nilüfer Municipality hosts Republic of Turkey stamp exhibition

Nilüfer Municipality has opened the “Republic of Turkey Stamps” exhibition at the Nâzım Hikmet Cultural Center as part of Republic Day celebrations. The exhibition aims to preserve and pass on the tradition of letter-writing and communication culture to younger generations in the digital age.

The display features historical stamps, first postage stamps from 50 different countries, and large-scale original print works reinterpreted by artist Cumhur Aygün. The event highlights the evolution of social life and communication throughout the history of the Republic.

Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir attended the opening ceremony, noting that stamps serve as a historical memory that carries the emotions and characteristics of their respective eras. Artist Cumhur Aygün emphasized that the collection represents a cumulative history of culture, art, and lifestyle rather than just postage.
