Nilüfer Municipality launches student support programs

Nilüfer Municipality has launched several initiatives aimed at supporting university students in Bursa. The municipality and NOSAB have signed a service protocol for a program titled ‘Future Leaders: Active Citizenship, Competence, and Network Development for Local Development’. Managed by the Nilüfer Municipality Planning and Development Agency (PlaKA), the project provides training in social skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, alongside mentorship from public and private sector experts.

In a separate development, the Nilüfer Municipal Council is considering a proposal to provide transportation support for 1,500 university students residing within the district. If approved, the municipality would cover the costs of 100-trip BURULAŞ student subscriptions for a nine-month period spanning from October 2026 to June 2027. The proposal has been referred to the Plan, Program, and Budget Commission for further evaluation.
