Nilvan Ferreira pledges to oppose tax hikes in Paraíba

Newly elected state deputy Nilvan Ferreira (PL) has announced his intention to oppose any tax increases in the Paraíba Legislative Assembly. Ferreira, who was the most voted state deputy in Paraíba for the 2026 term, stated he will not support projects aimed at increasing the tax burden on citizens.

A key part of his platform involves reforming the Vehicle Property Tax (IPVA). He aims to reduce the current exemption threshold from vehicles older than 15 years to those older than 10 years. Additionally, Ferreira is calling on Governor-elect Lucas Ribeiro to fulfill a campaign promise regarding IPVA exemptions for app-based drivers.
