NIM report shows rising consumer sentiment in Gen Z and Gen X
New analysis from the Nürnberg Institut für Marktentscheidungen (NIM) indicates a rise in consumer sentiment for September, particularly among Generation Z and Generation X.
Generation Z showed the strongest improvement in mood, driven by higher income expectations and a greater inclination to make purchases. In contrast, Baby Boomers remain more cautious. Generation X also saw a noticeable brightening of consumer sentiment, which researchers attribute to a declining tendency to save, potentially influenced by ongoing debates regarding reforms in health, pensions, and income tax.
