Ánima Studio releases La venganza del Charro Negro

The animated franchise ‘Las Leyendas’ returns with its eighth installment, ‘La venganza del Charro Negro’. Produced by Ánima Studio, the film explores Mexican folklore through a darker lens, aiming to balance themes of light and darkness for both children and adult audiences.

The plot follows protagonist Leo San Juan as he faces the Charro Negro, a legendary figure born from a tale of greed and pride. The story centers on the temptation of Leo’s brother, Nando, who is drawn to the specter’s promises of power.

Since its debut in 2007 with ‘La leyenda de la Nahuala’, the franchise has grown significantly, accumulating over 11 million viewers in Mexico. The latest entry is noted for its improved visual aesthetics, particularly in its depiction of rural Mexican settings and nocturnal atmospheres.
