NIMASA and Mission to Seafarers Strengthen Partnership to Boost Nigerian Seafarers' Welfare

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) reaffirmed its commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerian seafarers during a courtesy visit by the Mission to Seafarers (MtS) Lagos management committee. NIMASA Director General Dr. Dayo Mobereola received MtS Chairman Chief Adebayo Sarumi and Regional Director Reverend Cedric Rautenbach at the agency’s Lagos headquarters. Executive Director of Operations Engr. Fatai Taiye Adeyemi said NIMASA will enhance certification processes, capacity development and related policies, and will work closely with MtS to provide better support at sea and in port. MtS officials highlighted their role in pastoral care and practical assistance, stressing that deeper collaboration will strengthen welfare services for seafarers calling at Nigerian ports.
