NIMASA to launch Blue Economy Accelerator Programme

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has announced that the application portal for its Blue Economy Accelerator Programme (NIMASA-BEAP) will open on Monday, October 5, 2026.

The initiative targets young Nigerian innovators aged 18 to 28, seeking ideas to drive growth and transformation within the nation’s maritime and blue economy sectors. The programme features a National Innovation Hackathon and a 12-week accelerator designed to nurture talent and convert innovative concepts into viable enterprises.

Director-General Dr. Dayo Mobereola stated that the programme aims to position young Nigerians as active participants in national development through technology and entrepreneurship. The application window will remain open until November 13, 2026. Following a period of evaluation and due diligence, successful applicants will participate in a hackathon scheduled for December 8–10, 2026.
