NiMet forecasts dust haze and thunderstorms across Nigeria

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather forecast predicting dust haze and thunderstorms across Nigeria from Monday to Wednesday.

In the northern region, slight dust haze is expected over most areas, with moderate haze specifically forecasted for Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, and Kaduna states. The northern region is also expected to experience sunny and hazy conditions on Tuesday.

The North-Central region is predicted to see sunny skies with cloud patches on Monday, followed by isolated thunderstorms and light rain in parts of Kogi, Kwara, Benue, and the Federal Capital Territory in the afternoon or evening. Similar thunderstorm patterns with light rain are expected for parts of Kogi, Kwara, and Benue on Tuesday.

In the southern region, cloudy skies are expected during the morning hours, transitioning to thunderstorms with moderate rainfall in most areas later in the day on Monday and Tuesday. Light rain is also anticipated in parts of Delta, Bayelsa, Imo, Abia, and Anambra states throughout the period.
