Nimrat Kaur recalls the 1994 killing of her father, Major Bhupinder Singh

Actress Nimrat Kaur recently shared details regarding the death of her father, Major Bhupinder Singh, an Indian Army officer who was killed by terrorists in Kashmir in 1994.

Kaur recounted that her father was kidnapped while returning from duty by individuals wearing army uniforms. The kidnappers held him for seven days, demanding the release of terrorists imprisoned in India. Kaur, who was 12 years old at the time, recalled seeing him leave for work that morning and seeing him again only in a coffin. She noted that the family never received emotional closure following the tragedy.

Major Bhupinder Singh was posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakra for his sacrifice. Following his death, Kaur and her family moved to Noida to live with her maternal grandparents.
