Nimy Resources reports high gallium and rare earth extraction rates at Mons Project

Nimy Resources has reported successful metallurgical testwork at its Mons Project in Western Australia, achieving high extraction rates for gallium and rare earth elements (REE) from its Block 3 deposit. Testing indicated gallium extraction rates of up to 84.1% in transition material and 79.6% in oxide material. Rare earth extraction rates ranged between 80% and 100%, with specific elements such as neodymium and gadolinium showing high recovery levels.

The company stated that the results utilize a baseline extraction route involving proprietary intellectual property developed specifically for the unique mineralogy of the Block 3 deposit. This processing route was developed through a collaboration involving Nimy, Strategic Metallurgy, and Curtin University, with additional research support from the Mineral Research Institute of Western Australia (MRIWA).

Managing Director Luke Hampson noted that these results are a milestone toward establishing Block 3 as a significant gallium source for Western markets. The project is positioned as a potential alternative to the global gallium market, which is currently heavily controlled by China.
