Ninepoint Partners launches North American energy ETF in the U.S

Toronto-based asset manager Ninepoint Partners has launched the Ninepoint North American Energy Independence ETF (ENRG), its first fund to be listed in the United States on the NYSE Arca. The actively managed portfolio focuses on the deep energy integration between Canada, the United States, and Mexico, aiming to capitalize on cross-border interdependence despite political rhetoric or trade tensions.

The fund holds between 25 and 50 stocks, covering oil and gas production, pipelines, nuclear energy, uranium, copper, and other critical minerals. According to Ninepoint co-CEO John Wilson, approximately two-thirds of the fund’s oil and gas producers are based in the U.S., while Canadian operators represent much of the pipeline, uranium, and metal mining assets.

The launch comes amid rising demand for reliable power driven by the artificial intelligence boom and cryptocurrency mining. The fund seeks to address the growing need for energy infrastructure and electrification inputs required by high-performance computing and data centers.
