Ninfa Lentini celebrates 100th birthday in Castellammare del Golfo
Ninfa Lentini celebrated her 100th birthday in her hometown of Castellammare del Golfo on September 12. Born in 1926, Lentini spent her life balancing academic pursuits with family responsibilities. She graduated with honors in Literature and Philosophy from the University of Palermo in 1956 and pursued a career as a teacher.
During her university years, she was noted for teaching literacy to relatives and fellow townsfolk. After marrying Giovannino Mondello, she lived in Luino and later Varese, eventually leaving her professional career to care for her husband during his illness.
To mark the milestone, Mayor Giuseppe Fausto visited Lentini to present a commemorative plaque on behalf of the community, praising her life as an example of female strength, resilience, and dedication to education and family. Lentini currently resides in Asti with her daughter and grandchildren.
