Ninh Binh discovery of Tran Dynasty ceramic artifacts
During ground preparation for a house foundation in the Cua Bac resettlement area of Hoa Lu Ward, Ninh Binh province, a resident discovered several stacked ceramic artifacts.
Initial assessments by the Ninh Binh Provincial Museum indicate the artifacts are ceramic jars dating back to the Tran Dynasty, approximately the 13th or 14th century. The items were found arranged in a specific manner, with the mouths facing downward and the bases upward, suggesting they may have been placed intentionally.
Experts noted that such ceramics were historically used for various purposes, including storing food, transporting goods, or holding ashes. Local authorities have cordoned off the area to protect the site as further excavation and professional evaluation continue to determine the exact context and purpose of the find.
