Ninh Binh tightens safety regulations for adventure tourism

The Ninh Binh Department of Tourism has issued new directives to tighten safety controls over adventure tourism activities following several incidents that affected the health of athletes and tourists. These activities include SUP paddling, motorized paragliding, hot air ballooning, and flyboarding.

To prevent spontaneous and unregulated operations, the department requires businesses to provide written notification at least 15 days before operating adventure services. Mandatory requirements include rigorous equipment inspections, ensuring staff hold professional certifications and first aid skills, and maintaining emergency rescue protocols.

Authorities also emphasized the necessity of providing tourists with comprehensive information regarding risks, weather conditions, terrain, and health requirements. The move aims to protect the province's tourism image and prevent further accidents, such as a flyboarding incident at Nui Lo Lake in May.
