Nino de Angelo announces retirement plans and move to Italy
German Schlager singer Nino de Angelo has announced plans to retire from the stage on September 18, 2029, when he reaches the age of 66. In an interview with ARD Schlagerwelt, he detailed a structured exit strategy that includes releasing one or two more albums and conducting a major tour before stepping back. He humorously noted that a comeback remains possible, stating, “If I run out of money, I will come back!”
In addition to his professional plans, de Angelo is preparing for a significant personal move. He and his partner, Simone, intend to relocate from the Allgäu region to Italy, his parents' homeland. The move is expected to begin in stages starting in late 2026, involving a four-hectare property that includes a chapel.
Separately, singer Sonia Liebing has announced a delay in the digital release of her new single, which was originally scheduled for August 14. Describing the situation as a “night and fog operation,” Liebing explained that while the song will not be available for streaming immediately, she intends to perform it live at upcoming events, such as the Schlagerstern Willingen 2026.
