Ninove council member criticizes aldermen's absence at weddings
Victor Schollaert, a municipal council member for Positief Ninove, has raised concerns regarding the absence and tardiness of aldermen during wedding ceremonies in Ninove.
Schollaert reported multiple instances where officials were either late or failed to appear entirely, necessitating replacements. In one specific incident in early August, an alderman failed to arrive for a scheduled ceremony, and a replacement did not arrive until approximately 40 minutes after the start time. The affected family reported a lack of prior communication and no subsequent apology.
Schollaert intends to seek clarity during the upcoming municipal council meeting. He has requested data on how many times aldermen have been more than fifteen minutes late or absent during this legislature, as well as the reasons for these occurrences and the measures the city administration will implement to prevent future disruptions.
