Nintendo addresses Grand Theft Auto VI speculation for Switch 2

Nintendo of America President Devon Pritchard has addressed speculation regarding whether Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on the Nintendo Switch 2. In a recent interview with Variety, Pritchard stated that any decision regarding a port for the upcoming console would be a “conversation for Take-Two and Rockstar,” noting that she has nothing to announce on Nintendo's behalf at this time.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. While the Switch 2 is expected to be more powerful than its predecessor—capable of running demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077—technical challenges remain for a high-fidelity title like GTA VI.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has previously indicated that while the company evaluates opportunities for various platforms on a case-by-case basis, not every title will necessarily be brought to the Switch hardware. Rockstar Games has a history of releasing older titles on Nintendo systems, but the decision for its major upcoming release rests with the developer and publisher.
