Nintendo expands GBA library and sees Zelda remake hype

Nintendo has expanded its Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack library by adding three classic Game Boy Advance titles: Metal Slug Advance, Monster Rancher Advance, and Kururin Paradise. These titles are available for subscribers on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.

Metal Slug Advance, an action shooter from SNK, allows players to collect over 100 cards to unlock content. Monster Rancher Advance, a creature-raising simulation from Tecmo, features a system where players input text to breed unique monsters. Kururin Paradise, a puzzle sequel, marks a significant release as it was previously available only in Japan, providing Western audiences their first official access to the title.

Separately, anticipation is building for the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo Switch 2. The remake features modernized gameplay elements such as the ‘Threads of Time’ progress marker, integration with the Zelda Notes app, and improved camera and control handling. High demand for a limited edition physical version featuring a special foil cover has reportedly led to stock shortages at some retailers.
