Nintendo advised to increase game remakes to maintain release consistency

Former Nintendo of America public relations team members Kit Ellis and Krysta Yang have suggested that Nintendo should increase its investment in game remakes to maintain a consistent release schedule. During a recent podcast, they argued that leveraging Nintendo’s extensive catalog of intellectual properties could prevent the long gaps between major productions that have affected competitors like Sony.

While they noted that remakes could fill release calendars while high-budget projects are in development, they also expressed concern that a heavy reliance on remakes might reduce the incentive to create entirely new titles.

In connection to this strategy, details have emerged regarding the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The new version is expected to incorporate ‘Zelda Notes,’ a feature designed to assist players with information retrieval and progress tracking within Hyrule. This tool aims to modernize the classic experience by making data regarding paths, characters, and objects more accessible to players.
