Nintendo announces Switch 2 price hikes and new bundle

Nintendo is implementing a global price increase for the Switch 2 console, effective September 1, 2026. In the United States, the official price for the 256 GB standard version will rise from $449.99 to $499.99 before taxes. Similar increases are scheduled for Canada, where the price moves from $629.99 to $679.99, and in Europe, where the price will rise from €469.99 to €499.99 (including VAT). Japan has already seen a price adjustment earlier this year.

The company attributed the decision to “numerous changes in market conditions,” with industry indicators suggesting rising costs for memory and storage components. This adjustment comes less than 18 months after the hardware's initial launch.

Additionally, a new Nintendo Switch 2 bundle featuring “Nintendo Switch Sports Resort” has been announced for release on October 22. The pack will include the console, a digital version of the game, and a 3-month individual Nintendo Switch Online subscription. The bundle's console will not feature a user-replaceable battery.
