Nintendo announces Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2

Nintendo has announced a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, scheduled for release on November 5, 2026, for the Nintendo Switch 2. The announcement, made during a commemorative Nintendo Direct, included gameplay footage and details regarding new mechanics and hardware.

New gameplay features include a manual jump mechanic for the protagonist, Link, which appears to be visually supported by the inclusion of the ‘Roc’s Feather’ item on his cap. Additionally, the game will feature enhanced musical interaction, allowing players to hum into the controller's microphone or play a real ocarina/flute to reproduce notes in-game.

To coincide with the launch, Nintendo plans to release a limited edition Nintendo Switch 2 and Pro Controller 2 on October 29, 2026. The trailer showcased updated visuals for iconic locations and moments, such as the Great Deku Tree, Hyrule Field, and the encounter with Ganondorf.
