Japanese gaming sector sees Nintendo Switch 2 expansions and milestones

Several developments are occurring within the Japanese gaming sector, particularly regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 platform. The indie hit ‘Metcha Chameleon,’ developed by LEMORION and HAGANEIRO, has launched on Nintendo Switch 2. The game, which has surpassed 20 million sales on Steam, supports cross-play with PC and will introduce user-generated maps later this year.

In the board and card game genre, Neos Corporation announced that ‘Culdcept Begins’ has exceeded 100,000 shipments across Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. A Steam version is currently in development and is expected to release in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Additionally, Capcom is promoting its titles for the new console through variety programming, featuring games like ‘Pragmata’ and ‘Onimusha: Way of the Sword.’ Meanwhile, the mobile game developer coly has announced a delay for its Disney-themed title, ‘Disney Sparklink Stars,’ moving its service launch to November 2026 to ensure higher quality.
