Nintendo launches Rhythm Heaven Groove with multiplayer modes and a rhythm RPG

Nintendo announced the return of its Rhythm Heaven series with Rhythm Heaven Groove, the first entry in a decade. The Switch title offers more than 80 solo rhythm challenges and supports up to four players in over 30 cooperative and competitive modes, letting users catch flying vegetables, swing sledgehammers and perform other beat‑driven actions.

The game adds a rhythm‑based RPG called Beatspell, where players cast spells by matching rhythms to progress through story chapters. Additional features include Drum Lesson tutorials, Free Jam for free‑form drumming, a Rhythm Toy Box, and a Café area, plus original music and tracks from Japanese musician Tsunku. Accessibility options such as on‑screen text narration and timing calibration are also included.

Players seeking the highest in‑game accolade, the Perfect rank, must first clear a song with an Amazing rating, then wait for a specific Perfect‑chance window before completing the track with zero misses and no off‑beat inputs.
