Nintendo to release Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2

Nintendo is preparing a modern remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled for release on November 5, 2026. The remake will feature overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, expanded character dialogue, and a symphonic orchestral soundtrack. Technical improvements include reworked camera and movement controls, faster load times, and a continuous day/night cycle.

In a separate development, reports indicate that a previously cancelled Zelda spin-off project, internally codenamed ‘Goliath’, was proposed by Ubisoft Milan to Nintendo. The project aimed to feature a new hero, though Nintendo ultimately opted to focus on controlling the character Ganondorf. Nintendo rejected the prototype in late 2023, leading to the relocation of the development team to other projects.
