Nintendo raises Switch 2 price in Taiwan and Hong Kong

Nintendo announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be sold at higher prices from 1 September. In Taiwan the suggested retail price moves from NT$14,380 to NT$15,880, an increase of NT$1,500. In Hong Kong the price rises from HK$3,450 to HK$3,700, a HK$250 hike.

The company said the adjustments reflect higher component costs, especially memory chips driven by AI data‑center demand, and tariff pressures that together create roughly ¥10 trillion of cost pressure for the current fiscal year. The changes are part of a global pricing strategy already applied in Japan, Europe and the United States. Nintendo noted that the Nintendo Switch Online subscription price remains unchanged and that owners who have already purchased the console will not be affected.
