Nintendo releases Splatoon Raiders for Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo has released Splatoon Raiders, a significant departure for the franchise. Moving away from traditional competitive multiplayer, this title serves as a PvE-focused spin-off available on the Nintendo Switch 2.

The game blends Action-RPG and Looter-Shooter mechanics, featuring solo play or cooperative modes for up to four players. Set on the Spirhalite archipelago, players control a character named Mécano, a pilot-inventor working alongside a trio consisting of Pasquale, Angie, and Raimi. The group embarks on a treasure hunt to repay massive debts owed to Cité-Clabousse while battling hordes of Salmonoids.

While the narrative is noted for being somewhat linear, the game is praised for its humor, world-building, and addictive gameplay loop. It incorporates elements of the Salmon Run mode and roguelite mechanics, offering an expanded look at the series' lore through collectible artifacts and documents.
