Nintendo releases Splatoon Raiders for Switch 2

Splatoon Raiders is a new single-player spin-off of the Splatoon franchise released for the Nintendo Switch 2. Moving away from the series' traditional multiplayer focus, the game follows a customizable protagonist known as The Mechanic on a treasure-hunting journey.

Players accompany the Deep Cut Trio—consisting of Shiver, Frye, and Big Man—to the Spirhalite Islands following a tectonic shift. The gameplay involves navigating the islands to uncover loot while battling Salmonids, a species of mutated salmon that appear in various forms and sizes. While the initial hours serve as an extended tutorial, the experience eventually transitions into the fast-paced, chaotic gameplay characteristic of the main series, utilizing ink-based mechanics rather than traditional projectiles.
